Which hospital and room type?

I'm going to have to have some surgery in a couple of weeks. My insurance will cover (most of ) the room costs at Matilda, Canossa or Adventist. Is anyone able to give me feedback on these hospitals?

Has anyone used the semi-private rooms(2 bed)? How do they compare to the private rooms?

Many thanks

I have been in all three and would say the Matilda is the best of them, followed by the Adventist and then the Canossa. The semi-private rooms are fine but if you can get the private room it is much better, as you are not likely to be disturbed by another patient and or visitors. Th food options are also much better at the Matilda. On the minus side is the travelling up and to the peak but all in all the Matilda wins for me.

I agree with seal, Matilda is the best after Adventist and then Canossa.

The nurse used to have more independance also in Matilda, more westernized and more able to understand english.

The Hk Sanatorium also is not bad but the food is not good and there is no space around the hospital, like Adventist.

The food is awful in Adventist and Canossa, better in Matilda even if the quality and the choices diminished a lot the last few years.

Matilda is the best choice even if they advertise more than they do.

In Matilda you can also have a private room with balcony which is very important for the recovery. But of course, be sure your insurance company will reimbourse for this: everything is more expensive than in semi -private, , even the dressings!
