I suggest making an appointment to see Dr Patrick Chan in Tak Shing House Tel 2522 2500. (He is Australian trained with excellent bedside manner). Metformin doesn't always work, but it can help. Dr Chan will discuss your options and do a thorough set of tests (including an internal ultrasound, which I only tell you because it is good to be prepared for it. It is the only way to get an accurate assessment of how your ovaries are/n't working).
Good luck.

I have PCOS and will soon be living in Guangzhou. I have miscarried 3 times and will be 40 in December 2009. I am just about non-ovulatory and have been prescribed clomid so my partner and I can conceive. My doctor here in Africa (Western trained) prescribed metformin for me and explained how it works. Brilliant! There is a history of hypoglycemia in my family and that may be the reason. The first two weeks will give you stomach upset but those are the only side effects. I am going a different route (provera and clomid) so we can start our family but I will try the metformin when the time is right. Good luck and I hope you are healthy and happy.
