I also see Dr Ma, which was recommended to me by another doctor. His fees are about HK$750 per session, but you might need blood tests if you have any thyroid problems, which bumps the price up quite a bit more.

Krayfish, do you know how much the bloodtests cost? A friend had some done recentky and it cost around HK7,000 which seems outrageous! IS it cheapoer to pay at the Lab instead of have them charge the Dr and he bill you?

With Dr Ma, the blood tests are done in a lab round the corner. I on't think he gets any cut from this. The price I pay for 2-3 blood tests to check levels of hormones for hyperthyroidism ranges from HK$400-1200. HK$7000 does sound high but it does depend on the number and nature of the tests involved.

Professor Low at Queen Mary Hospital sees children but you can ask about adults. He does private consultations at around 1000 per visit but is excellent.

i know an excellent endocrinologist buut ur gonna need a referral (or wait for MONTHS) cause she works at a government hosp...
I see her once in 1-2 months, ill ask her if i could refer "a friend" to her.. and see what she says. If she doesnt have a problem giving u an appointment, ill pass you her number- you can call her urself.
