my wife and i went to a ivf clinic in shanghai. she had the embryo's implanted and i guess there is some complication with the embryo's "taking hold". the dr used the term "hgc" or "hcg" i am not sure what those letters mean but they were used along with a percentage scale. my wifes percentage was 20% and i guess that is dangerously low. even though the dr was chinese and taled to her. my wife was still pretty confused. i know medical terms are confusing in any language. could someone shed some light?

HCG is a hormone produced by the placenta and is essential for maintaining the corpus luteum during pregnancy. The corpus luteum is a mass of cells that produce progesterone essential for maintaining normal pregnancy. I’m not a physician, just speaking from my personal experience. Before I had my boy, I had been in and out of a fertility specialist’s clinic for 5 years. I had a low HCG count as well and was given treatment for it. Did your doc explain and prescribe treatment?
