Breast Augmentation

I am interested in getting my breasts done in Thailand and have done some research. However my husband will only let me get this done if I can talk to someone who can recommend doctors based on personal experience. I am looking to have a lift and add a cup size thanks to breastfeeding two children.

I would like to know how happy you were with results and entire experience and how painful it was as well as the truthful recovery time.

I already know the risks as I have done very much research and still chose this as something I want to do for myself.

Thanks for sharing!!

Hi, here are some tips from my experience:

2 excellent hospitals and doctors in BKK to share:

1. Dr. Nond Rojvachiranonda at Bumrungrad hospital.

Website:http://www.bumrungrad.com/overseas-medical-care/medical-services/clinics-and-centers/plastic-center.aspx

2. Dr Chartchai at Samitivej Hospital

Website: http://www.samitivej.co.th/sukhumvit/plastics_clinic_en.aspx

I have done a reconstructive breast surgery with Dr. Chartchai last month as was impressed with the high quality services and doctor.

It is worth visiting these two hospitals, book and appointment to visit some doctors of your choice and see who you connect most with and trust. It is crucial you visit the doctor first and then make your decision.

It is a painful procedure, for me the same as my C-section, but totally worth it!

If you need more details let me know.

hi, i dont think its good to take such kind of surgery, even current medicine care is in a high level and breast surgery is not soooo complicated or dangerous.

i suggest u can try some body massage to make breast life, maybe its not so effecient as what surgery does, i keep my thinking of nature is beauty...

and i read from magazines or i had such kind of discussion before with friends, most of men dont want their wife change their body shape in surgery way, men like nature pretty more. be confident to yr body...

Cristina - thanks for sharing. How long was your recovery period? And how long did you stay in BKK. Did you go alone or do you truly need someone there with you? You mentioned two doctors - did you have work done with the first one as well and if so what if you don't mind me asking. I plan to have a tummy tuck next year as I have endured 8 abdominal surgeries and now have little muscle to help return from excessively large pregnancies.

Barbara - with all due respect if all men loved women completely natural then Wan Chai would be out of business. There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting to feel her best just as there is nothing wrong with a woman not wanting to change anything about herself. However there is no massage in the world that can return my breasts to their original size and shape or any where near it.

Last time I checked there were no models with flattened saggy breasts sporting stretch marks, chicken skin around her stomach and wearing no make-up being celebrated as beautiful. In theory it would be wonderful to feel perfect as you are every moment of the day but in reality that does not happen to me so I prefer to help nature along and get myself in the best condition that I can.

I'm sure you can find a clinic that offers you the safest assistance possible in a clean environment, all the counselling you need etc. But there is another thing you have to consider. I don't know how, but you should try to touch the breast of a woman who did this. NOT just talking about it, but touching it. After that you should try to talk to men of whom women did such an operation, see what they think.

And only then take a decision.

I know annaya means well but you aren't asking if you should do it, just by whom. I think plastic surgery is ok so long as you're not dependent on it. 5 surgeries but not 55! Anyway, can't tell you who to go to, but just that I'm glad you are doing something which will make you feel good. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for all the varied replies. I respect each persons outlook on this. I am going to have the surgery and I have felt several women's breast that have had them done which has made me chose the kind of implant I am planning on. I am not looking to turn myself into a plastic doll as I think I am for the most part quite content with the whole of me - just a little touch of extra help feeling my best. Thanks for all of the good wishes. I still am open to people that have personal experiences to share as I am running close to the time I am planning on doing this.

thanks all

Just a little post-breastfeeding boob experience:

After nursing my 3 kids, I, too, found my cup size reduced, which was not a problem for me. It felt as though it was "empty", but after a while, my body readjusted. I don't have "depleted" breasts anymore, and I don't know how that happened, just time I suppose, perhaps in the same way your uterus contracts back into place after delivery? My sisters and mum noticed my going flabby, but only told me later when I was back into shape they had noticed my breast going flabby and then reappearing. I dunno. Other friends had the same experience: felt depleted after breastfeeding, but then changed again to their pre-pregnancy fullness, if not firmness (but that's pregnancy, not breastfeeding, research just proved that recently)

Anyway, not trying to talk you out of it (you seem pretty determined!) it's just my boob experience, I just think it's important when you go for surgery (of any kind) that you're certain you know WHY you do it.

Thanks for that - however I went to such an increased size that the skin has grown too much and therefor I do not see that there is any chance of return. It has been over two years now.

I too have been thinking about having a small lift and implant after having breast fed three children ...last being 6 years ago. Admitedly I am nervous about having an operation, but am not happy about my depleted and saggy figure! I would be really grateful if you could contact me about your experience and perhaps reccomend a good doctor in Thailand. Thank you

(I am also in HK)

My friend had hers done in Bangkok and loves them.

Her surgery went well.

I dont know her docs name though!

I can get it if you need, she flew from australia to get it done, via an australian agent, she went with her mum who cared for her.

I strongly suggest you have someone care for you there, when you have had it done.

Please don't let the naysayers put you off. I had mine done 10 years ago, and it is the best thing that I ever did for myself. My boyfriend loves them - he tells me that if I'd asked him before getting them done he would've told me not to do it, but now that I have them (I met him after the surgery) he's not complaining. Before I met him I had a few other boyfriends (like I said, the surgery was 10 years ago.. I'm not a tart or anything), and a couple of them did not even know that my boobs were fake until I told them. Mine are very natural to the touch, quite firm, but they just feel like firm young boobs! I had mine done in England, on Harley Street. I went from an A cup to a C, no loss of nipple sensation, no hardness, no unnatural 'sitting-up' kind of look, and they still bounce around when I move. I got the implants under my pecs, which is a more invasive surgery than getting them above, and this method takes longer to recover, but it is well worth it, as that's what makes them look much more natural. It took me three months for them to completely heal, enough to allow me to do everything - sports, sex, etc. Until then you have to be very careful, as if you start putting stress on them too soon, they can develop scar tissue which is when the boobs go hard

I have a quick question.

Is it that much more expensive to do these procedures (inclu tummy tucks) in HK? It would of course be simpler to do it here just for the after-care but I suppose if there is a large diff in price, then Bkk fits the bill.

Just curious.

thankyou pandabearest for your advice. How long is the recuperation period? Hadn't really thought too much about that!! Have heard that Bumrungrad hospital is good. Did your friend go there? The operation itself was the biggest issue, but you are quite right, post care is just as important. It would be so much easier to have the op in HK so can have the support afterwards and get back to doing the important Mum business. Has anyone had a successful, yet not mind blowingly expensive operation here? Meanwhile I shall continue to wear my confidence boosting push up bra! I wish someone could invent more push up bikini tops as well.

As a doctor who has had her own boob job, may I say it is quite painless, no dramas whatsoever and the best thing I have ever done; your body is your own and you have to be happy with it and if modern medicine can help then that's what it's there for!

Hey there I just stumbled upon your thread... I've had my boobs done 14 years ago and had 2 kids since and breastfed and will be ready for a second boob job in no more than 2 years... I know of 1 girl and 1 of my friend had theirs done in BKK at the Bumrungrad (just can't remember the Dr.'s name but could find out for you) and they both were pretty happy with the hospital and the results. Now, I don't care what people say nothing is painless!!! It all depends on well you can cope with pain. My girlfriend who had them done last April, stayed from Friday to Tuesday and then came home and she had pain for a couple of weeks. You're looking at easy 1 month full recovery (depending on where you choose to get the implants put through and how big your going for. I went from barely a 36A to a full 36 C (14 years ago) and was a 40E when I had my kids and I'm back to a 36C (small C). My friend had barely 34A and got 34CC and regret not going for a D. But she still love them and she looks fantastic and it totally look natural too.

Good Luck and you may want a have your husband there or a good friend for second opinion!! It's the best thing I ever did for myself and I have no regret of doing it when I was young either!

I did my BA 2.5 yrs ago did a lot of research procrastinated and wished I done it 17 years earlier after my last child! Everyone will hv a different experience opinion I started with BKK but when I finally went over I wasn't very confident with the 2 doc I met even thought they came recommended.Mr A. Poomee at Bumrungrad actually turned me down as I think I was asking too many questions and may be too fussy doh!! So I gave up on the whole idea. Then awhile later when I was in Melbourne a friend told me about a doc who lived down the road and was considered one of Australia's best. Brian Mendelsonn I Googled him loved his philosophy and booked myself in! I didn't want Pamela Anderson's boobs plus i wanted silicon thru the under arms and not many doc are comfortable doing that. recovery was pretty straightforward too after all that worry. BUT it took me over a year to be comfortable with them as I was too self conscious!

It seems like many are getting BA done in BKK. How about Hong Kong? Why do you choose BKK than HK hospital? Any recommendation if I am looking into getting it done in town?

HI to all,

I am just curious about the PIP Breast Implants scandal in France. I wonder how would it affect me if i want breast augmentation done this year.

Papers pointed out:

•Breast cancer linked to French implants

•Up to 40,000 women in UK using PIP devices

•Company used industrial silicon to save money

I know these are old posts, but when researching my 'boob job' I read all of these.

I am an Australian living in HK and after having 2 kids and breastfeeding both for a year each I decided to have my breast done.

Dr Hui did my surgery this year in April 2012.

I am very happy with the results and the before and after care. I think they are very natural looking and my girlfriends (and husband!) are all very impressed. It is an overnight stay the Matilda. I do have some scaring however Dr. Hui goes in underneath the breast so it is covered by any bra or cosy you wear.

It is not cheap. Total cost with the hospital stay is going to set you back about $110,000 HKD. I had a girlfiend who had her breast done the same week in Thailand and I think hers were about $35,000 HKD. That does not include airfares, hotel stays etc. I thought about the Thailand option but did not feel comfortable with traveling overseas to do this and was concerned about after surgery care. Of which my girlfriend who went to Thailand has had none.

Do not underestimate the size of this surgery however. It seems like lots of people have done it and it is no big deal but the first few days really are awful. They don't tell you about that in the pretty pastel coloured brochures with the illustrations. Of course there are no photos as if you saw photos it might put you off and this is a business for the Doctors after all!

When you wake up you are wearing a surgical bra and have drains inserted under each breast which filter down two tubes into two little plastic bottles. You have to empty these little bottles regularly and use a syringe to measure the amount of bloody fluid that has drained out of you. You keep a log of this. Once the measurement is under 30ml in 24 hours you can have the drains removed. Which was a horrible experience! The drains are about the size of a flat chopstick (a bit wider infact) and are under your skin. I found the drains very uncomfortable. Once the drains were removed my recovery was much better.

I did find myself the day after asking myself what I had done? There was nothing wrong with me! Would I ever be able to pick my kids up again? Generally pretty miserable. But of course that is all normal and forgotten later on ... just like childbirth!

If you are thinking should you or shouldn't you and have been thinking about it for a long time (as I had) just get over yourself and do it! Stop asking the question of yourself! I love my new figure. I feel very womanly and it is nice to fill out my cloths without shoving something down my bra to do the job!

Hope this helps anyone out there!

Hi all, I was reading the posts here and I was curious to know how others feel about doing breast augmentation or any other cosmetic procedures. In my experience, having a breast augmentation is one of the best decisions I made in my life. Why is that? Because I know for a fact that it brought back a lot of self confidence in me which is so important to me.

Thanks to Dr Rino Lorenzo, who helped guide me along the way. I had mine done in Manila, Philippines which is a lot more affordable yet the result is remarkably good. There are a lot of good doctors in Manila actually, but I chose Dr Lorenzo since he was referred to by some of my friends who had breast aug done by the good doctor.
