Dr Simon Wong at ENT Centre. 1-3 Pedder Street, Central. He was fantastic, speaks excellent english and is very thorough. I was referred to him for dizzy spells I had been having for quite a while.

As it turned out, many months ago I had a sinus infection for the first time in my life over here and it ended up all compacting (sounds horrible, sorry!), so I ended up with very messed up sinus, ears and basically my whole head.

So he got to the bottom of the dizziness and now I feel fine, well, as fine as you can be living in this lovely polluted country!

I went to Simon Wong too, but he and most other ENT's aren't as qualified as Dr. Von Hasselt at Prince of Wales' hospital. I found him pleasant, and Dr. Alexander Choi is good too. Both are Chinese with good English. Most ENT's can't do surgery if for some reason you need it.Dr. Von Hasselt performed sinus surgery on my husband and did a great job. He will find things other ENT's won't. However, it's a long drive to the Prince of Wales' hospital to see him, but I've seen ENT after ENT for 20 years and he was the only one to find my deviated septum and to tell me what to do about it. Dr. Wong and Dr. Choi just gave me nasal sprays and sent me on my way whereas Dr. VH can actually correct the problem if I want with a simple surgical procedure.

If i take nasal spray i will be ok. But i dont want to make a habit of nasal spray. Kindly suggest me a good doctor.

Terry Hung at ENT Centre, Central Building was expensive. The consultation was average at 1200 hkd, but he then wanted to remove some wax on my eardrum surface by using a small suction instrument with an optics lens. He classified the 5 minutes suction as a procedure and charged me another 1500 HKD. To me it seemed gratuitous. This type of procedure is what a doctor would do without the fancy machine by a small instrument and call it part of the consultation. It was so routine as to be charged, it felt wrong.

It was like a GP charging me 1200 dollars to hear me say my throat is sore, and then classifying the tongue depressor insertion and my 'aaahhh' as a procedure to charge me another 1500 dollars.

For Dr. Hung, you might as well expect the cost of the consultation is 2700+ HKD in my view.

I just went to see Terry Hung from ENT Center. I DO NOT recommend him as I had the same expensive experience. I paid over HKD2,700 for a basic ear infection. HKD1,000 for consultation + HKD1,500 for a 5 mn ear cleaning +HKD200 for medication.

How could you charge this amount for 15mn ? And he even asked me to come to see him again in few days...
Of course he omitted to mention that the ear cleaning was HKD1,500... This is not honest and over priced.

Professor van Hasselt - excellent with children, excellent communication with mother (very important!), excellent follow up 10/10

Simon HW Wong - My son previously had a hearing test with Dr Wong after it showed up abnormal in a school test. I found his advertisement on the Internet. The follow-up test was clear. Several months later my son began suffering from tinnitus and dizziness and we returned to Dr Wong. When I explained the symptoms Dr Wong laughed at me, said there was nothing he could do and insinuated my son had mental problems IN FRONT of my son. He didnt even refer us to another specialist, but was happy to take his fee. My son suffered for over a year before he was referred to another specialist and is now cured. Horrible, arrogant man. Please don't take your child to this doctor.
