Root Canal

Went for a checkup at the Governments Dentist Hospital where I was told that I needed Root Canal treatment on one of my teeth.


Now wanting to go private to get this done and as I'm such a wuss would be grateful for personal recommendations as to where to go for good service plus not being charged too much...ideally in the Sai Ying Pun/Kennedy Town area.

Guess noone has had root canal treatment in HK seeing as have had no responses.


Or at least peeps aren't willing to share their experiences (must have been bad ones)...oh well;)

I've just been told I need one too. Have insurance but it only covers basic cleaning , checkups etc. Have been quoted $5k at Quality Healthcare. Can't afford that, so would like recommendations for somewhere cheaper.

Hi Guys,

Had 3 root canals Cost $8000 per tooth excluding the crown which is going to cost a further $17,000 per tooth!

root canals are finished and now cross costing dentists to replace the temporary crown Im hoping 17K is because my dentist is expensive and not the norm.

5K is a very good price but check what they will charge for the crown.

If you have the time you could always consider Brumengrad on a cheap flight.

8000 is in the norm for root canals and you must always add the cost of the crowns as it is a definite must if you want to protect your tooth.


if 5k is unaffordable, you can go to the teaching hospital. Prince Philip dental hospital. it is in sai ying pun. 34 hospital road. it is at the intersection of eastern road and second road. however you'll be treated by students being supervised by dentists. much more economical.
