I would like to ask for an advice for an ingrowing toe nail.
It has been managable previously but now its getting worse. The skin has gone over the nail. Need to see a doctor for this.
Has anyone experienced such. Can you recommend a doctor or a specialist who can help cure this.

I had one on my finger. I put some antibiotic cream and a bandage and it took care of itself in a couple of days. Picking at it will inflame it and infect it so better to put the cream and keep the bandaid on it because that softens the skin

Go and see a podiatrist if they are available, there is obviously a bit of nail that is causing the infection and may not fully heal unless you get it taken out. My hubby is a Podiatris and deals with this problem all the time. The problem can go on for months if not treated. some doctors may deal with this but a podiatrist specialises only on the feet so may be better qualified.
We are in Australia so sorry cant help but if it persists go see someone.

Regarding ingrown toenails, if they're really bad, like the one you mentioned, it may require professional help to cut it free but then you need to prevent it growing that way again.

Thanks everyone. Well i actually inquired for a family member.
So far it was miraculously managable for the past months, he is seeing a doc now, so wont get the same probs again in future.
Cookie - well yeah, 6 months is way to long.. hahaha
