I am desperately looking for a good english speaking psychiatrist for my 20 year daughter who is presently in hospital after taking an overdose. The doctor has advised me that she will not be released unless she sees a psychiatrist. The hospital will arrrange for one at a public hospital in Chai Wan or I find a private one. Does anyone have any experience in this area it is all a bit of a shock to me - please help

Try Central Health Medical Practice in Central - their number is 2824 0822. I highly recommend their psychiatrist, very thorough and caring but it is quite expensive. I hope your daughter will get well soon...from my personal experience: don't judge her impulsive acts, try to listen and be supportive. I wish I could offer more help than just replying to your message...
