medical treatment in thailand

i was told you can get world class healthcare in thailand for almost nothing. i believe you get what you pay for but i am faced with major back surgery and very little money to pay for it.

i have 2 herniated disks in my back and there are chinese medcal facilites equipped with dr's and/or tech to treat me but i am considering going to hk to have it done even though it will be more costly i will be more at ease with an hk medical professional treating me. a friend of mine urged me to check into thailand medical facilities and i have heard of others going to thailand for dental, cosmetic and cancer treatment.

The facilities in Thailand are quite good and the price is usually better than Mainland China or HK.

It is the first choice for insurance companies in case of a person needing to be evacuated to get medical treatment. (At least for those companies that refuse to send you to your home country).

If you don't have any kind of insurance I'd say it might be a good choice if your budget is a primary concern.
