Hi, I've been thinking about transition glasses.. the sort that adjusts how dark it is as you go from light to dark areas, etc.
I understand that our eyes adjusts to brightness differences by varying the opening in the eye (pretty much like a camera?) and i wonder if wearing transition glasses will affect the eye, since it does all the work for the eye?

You should be able to get them at any good optition, they may describe them as transition, or reactalite rapide depending on where you live in the world, they just change from clear to tinted glass with the sunlight, then back again to clear glass.
Saves the need for clip on sunglasses.

i don't think it will affect your eyes. my dad uses it and he says its quite good. it prevents the sunrays from hurting your eyes.

Hey thanks guys! Is "Sun-dim" a specific brand or refer to transition glasses in general? my regular optician, Lenscrafters don't seem to be carrying them.

transition lenses are a brand made by a company called Essilor. They are very good quality lenses and are available in plastic.
If your eyes are sensitive to bright light then its a good idea to have them.
You can also get them for cosmetic reasons as the lenses have a light tint to start with. As they is not much sunlight in HK these lenses are not absolutely necessary. If you lived in a hot sunny climate then they are a must have.
