I have just settled in HK for 2 months. Yet my wife is nagging me about getting a orthodontist for our daughters. So I have got a few questions and hope someone can help me sort them out! I will be very grateful.
First, I wonder if it is alright for 11 years old kids to have braces? has anyone here done it? I don't know much about teeth (or rather, kids :P).
Second, we are located to Causeway Bay so can anyone recommend a good orthodontist on the island?
Thanks in advance!

I am speaking as a mother of two kids (now 26 and 20 years old) and based in Hong Kong. I would recommend an initial check with a reputable dentist first to assess the feasibility and suitability of braces for your daughters. I do not think it is good to make appointment with orthodontist right away. For a reputable English speaking dental clinic, I recommend you to try the expat dentists at Suite 210-218, 2/F, Jardine House, 1, Connaught Place, Central on telephone no. 2526 1061. Email: jh@bjdental.net
Good luck!

Hi visitorfromaustralia
I have 2 sons (11 years old and 9 years old). Both of them had started having regular check ups for their teeth in the UK since they were 7.
We moved to HK last month and started to go to an orthodontist - Dr Paul Lau in Central as recommended in another post by donkeywithnotail.

We have been very satisfied so far.
You may try him out.
Good luck.

Its important to get a second opinion regarding your daughter's braces. Apparently there are different approaches to treatment and you have to be comfortable with the orthodontist and his/her treatment plan.
