Hi,
I've just moved to HK and my employer has given me the option of two medical plans with different $ coverage for different things.
Looking at it is seems a little low based on what I'd expect - UK prices - so wanted to get a sense of what it costs here.
Any idea what the following costs:
Consultation at a GP's office
Physio treatment
Specilaist consultation
Surgeons fee (hard one I guess)
Anyone had any experience of the above? Would be great to know.
The policy is with AXA and pays betwwen 245 and 500 for a GP, around 500 for a physio and around 500 for a specialist.
All seems pretty low to me so wanted to know whether to upgrade.
They have plan doctors who I guess are free but I think those are just GPs?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, my previous network plan was with AXA. it was a Class 1 plan, and i did made a claim that was inadequate to cover the bill that came through
generally GPs here cost around 200+ to 1000 depending on the prescription
Physio, for an expat like you, i would go to a reputable hospiital's physio department where the equipment and specialist are at the finger tips. Hospital physio costs from 800 - 2k+ per session depending on the equipment used.
Specialist 1k+
Happy to give you some detail advice regarding coverage over a coffee or beer.

Gp 200-500 + medicine
Sp 500 - 1200 + medicine + in office procedures such as ultrasound 300-1000
Hospital stay 50000/day
It is a general idea. Various a lot.
