Hi, I'm suffering from depression, severe anxiety problems. How can I get help? Is this the right place to ask? My problems have slowely been getting worse for the past 3 years and I've now started having really bad panic attacks and I'm just so annoyed and frustrated at myself all the time. Is anyone here on anti-depressants?? How effective they are in treating this disorder??? Please help, need some advice.
Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about your mental health problems. I've had friends and family who've gone through similar ordeals.

I think in order to get anti-depressants (or anti-anxiety) medications, you probably need to visit a psychiatrist and have him/her write you a prescription. The only problem in HK is western-educated psychiatrists are rather expensive, often asking HK$1,500-2,000 per hour of consultation. I'm sure there are less expensive ones out there, but perhaps this is something you don't want to be skimming on.

Perhaps you can just try talking with a friend or family member about your issues first. You'd be surprised how much that can help alleviate the pain. Whatever path you choose, I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Adali,

Most of depression problems can be solved with just anti-depression medicine. Some of them you don't need prescription from a doctor, BUT you need to see one, and make sure he gives you the right medicine, and dosage to take. Also, you don't need a psychiatrist if it is a mild depression problem.
Please ask you GP, most likely he can help you.

I am taking Wellbutrin for almost an year, and it is my GP who takes care of it. And I am feeling great!

Hello Adali,
I was diagnosed with depression some time ago. But the only thing which really helped me to control my depression was Valium Diazepam. I have taken it last two years and it helped like nothing else did, is a great anxiety reducer. When I'm having a panic attack and I take a diazepam it just makes me feel "normal" again. It take about 20 mins to start working. And yes, I try to use it only when I really need it and I have not found it to be addictive at all. I know a good site which deliver high quality products. Usually, I buy my drugs here (www.generic-meds-store.com) because it's cheaper and more convenient to me.
Wish you all the best. Hope I was helpful.
