Ritalin

Was helping a friend fill a Ritalin prescription yesterday and was told by the GP to go 'downtown' but later found that if you give a local pharmacy a couple of days' notice, they can also fill it and the cost is just HK$37 for 10 x 10 mg tabs. It's quite a difference from the fees charged by pediatricians - 1,000 for 30 tabs including consultation. Maybe some of the doctors try to cash in on the fact that Ritalin is a DD and therefore exploit their exclusive dispensing role. So much for the Hippocratic Oath...

The drugs you buy without a prescription, is guaranteed to be black market. That means it could contain anything...aspirin, sugar, and no active ingredients. If you buy it from Watson's or Manning's with a prescription, it will be the genuine product, and cost roughly the same as the Dr office.

You decide which is more important? The real drug or a cheap knock off? If you want the stats, 10% of all drugs are counterfeit. Protect yourself as much as possible, and buy genuine medications.

I am amazed people give this there kids, couple of my friends years ago gave me some Ritalin and it was like doing a line of coke .... I believe recent scientific "papers" have put the condition of ADH under serious scrutiny

Yes, DO RESEARCH THIS DEEPLY before letting a doctor put any child on Ritalin. Your mileage may vary, but personally I'd NEVER allow it, if it were my kid.
