You are built as you are to be short, like you say this runs through your family, a lot of men i know like short woman someone they feel like they can look after and protect smaller woman, the saying goes "small things come in good packages", thats just a saying we use back home, be happy for what you are whether it be small or tall, neither makes a lot of difference.

Cons

My friends daughter (who'se 11years old) was given a growth hormone injection in the US because she was short for her height in comparison to her other siblings and parents. I remember her mum telling me that the doc said this couldn't be done if she was in her late teens because the bone would have been already been fused together? Anyway, sounds pretty drastic to me as no-one person is perfect, too fat , too thin, too short, too tall- God made us in different sizes and shapes. Please cherish what you have :)

btw- I have read in the papers that this is a common complaint in China- with women going for surgery to lengthen their bones, but the poor things end up with infection and some even lame.

Cons,

At your age, supplements won't help you grow taller. The only real option to undergo that bone-breaking operation but it is something that you really don't want to do because you can't walk for the entire time that you are recuperating and the complication rate is too high for an elective surgery. Moreover, it is difficult to find surgeons with expertise in this procedure as it is a rather rare operation.

Hi Cons, though you probably won't grow more, I can make a suggestion. Take care of what you do have! Exercise with weight bearing exercises, get good nutrition generally, and take calcium supplements to make sure your bones and joints stay healthy. Many women neglect nutrition and exercise during their adult and child-bearing years, and they end up losing bone density as they age, which causes their height to shrink and their spine to curve. I will also tell you that I grew one inch between age 20 and 30, even though "experts" say this doesn't happen. I don't know why I grew, I just did. Since nutrition does have some effect on height (e.g. average Japanese height has risen dramatically in last 50 years), it would only make sense to continue to live a healthy lifestyle: exercise, good diet, sleep, and continue this. Whether or not it's possible for you to grow more, at least these measures will take care of your skeleton and keep you from getting shorter as you age!

Unfortunately not. Your bones will be fused so no further growth is possible after 18 or sometimes 19.

Agree. Growth hormone is only effective before the growth plate fuses. At age 25 you are far too old for it to be effective.

There is only one way to get taller. There is a operation that literally breaks your leg bones then separate it to that it heals to a longer bone. The the process is repeated again and again. Very expensive, very painful and takes a very long time. Overall, not recommended unless you are really short. Most doctors who do this wouldn't even do it unless you are really short.

Cons, I think you need to first consider a more fundamental question: WHY do you want to grow taller at age 25, instead of how.

As mentioned, it is very true that growth hormone is useless for you as your growth plates in the bones have fused. The only way to "grow" taller is by the "Bone Breaking" operation. What it involves are:

Breaking both of you tibia and fibula (Bones in the leg)

2. Hold them with external frames

3. Allow a small gap between the bones

4. Gradually lengthen the frame and allow bone growth

5. The whole process takes over a year and in most cases the person need to stay in hospital for a long time. The Major risk is infection and non-union of bones.

A painful, expensive procedure.

If it is a more fundamental question that you feel that you are not as "good" as someone else when you are not as tall, perhaps you need to see a counselor to get over this psychological barrier.

5.

Sometimes big things come in small packages! I am fortunate to be tall, but some of my best friends though very short in stature are very tall in presence and authority. It's harder to have a "commanding presence" when you are petite, but I've seen it done through force of personality! Cheers!

absolutely agree with Meiquoren - personality embraced by a positive vision of oneself could project a much greater & taller perception of the physical being.

I agreed with Ruth. You can be as "tall" (or pretty or confident...) as you wanted if you feel good about yourself. Break your bones and re-set them, you gotta to be kidding!! What's next? Open you brain and make it smarter?! Talk to a good hypnotherapist, it's safe, painless and much cheaper. Look up www.hypnosis-hk.com

What about short men, they can't wear heels? What can you recommend to them?

Cons, being tall or short, overweight or underweight is not important. It is who you are and how you handle yourself. It is who you are and how you interact with people that is morte important. Yes, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but I look at the inside more when dealing with people. Their sincerity, honesty, love of life, caring nature and ability to adapt to many different situations. A smile also goes a long way.

Just be yourself, be proud of the way you look and live life to its fullest.
