My baby has a birthmark on her face and according to our pediatrician, it won't go away on its own.
We're in search of a dermatologist specialized in birthmarks or experienced in pulse dye laser. Would greatly appreciate any info.

I'm not an expert but I think a plastic surgeon (rather than a dermatologist) is the specialist you use when you are concerned about not leaving a scar.

I need more information but will try to help you find the correct solution. If you would like to contact me. I am in family practice. gwootan@pol.net

Dr Kenneth Hui is an excellent cosmetic surgeon in Hong Kong and one specialisation is laser for pigmentation. His details are at:

BTW, he removed a couple of worrisome moles for me and several of my friends. A considerate, gentle doctor - good for nervous, or younger, patients.

Thx for all you advice. The doctor said we do have to watch out for glaucoma because of the extra pressure on the eye. Got referred by a dermatologist to another dermatologist who has a lot of experience in treating Port Wine Stain (the kind of birthmark my daughter has) in young children. But haven't seen him yet.

hi misza,
The dermatologist I got referred to is Dr. Henry Chan. He seems very experienced in treating PWS, though a bit arrogant. He said the earliest possible time to get treatment is 12 months. He has the machine in his practice, guess he must do a lot of laser treatments a day!
misza, may i know if you're looking for a dr. for your child as well? pls pm me.
