Hi mils

All of the international health insurance plans offer maternity cover under their plans. The waiting period depends on the plan taken and is either 10 or 12 months.

There one company with a 3 month waiting period. But the conception must be after the 3rd month. Therefore the minimum period is also 12 months. The minimum waiting period essentially is 10 months. Andrew

BUPA's policy changed as of 1st April. Although if you are on the 12 month plan you need to wait until the renewal of your policy, before they upgrade your plan to the 10 month plan.

BUPA's prices are slightly more expensive than the Allianz prices. However Allianz also requires you to insure your husband or partner under a Hospital, Outpatient and Maternity plan aswell.

I would like to find out about general health insurance policies that cover for doctor visits and cronic illness etc. I have had a quote from HSBC but would like to find out from others, infividuals who have bought etc, what is the best value etc

I know the company schemes are often the best value but unf neither myself or my husband's companies provide this so we need to get it ourselves.

Thanks!
