Regret veneer

ORIGINAL POST

Ten years ago, NAME EDITED in Hong Kong sold me veneers, without letting me know that this would be permanment. At that time, I was 20 sometime and new in Hong Kong, not knowing that there are many unscrupulous dentists in Hong Kong.

I now found out that these were not veneers and only bonding. It took me 3 hours to get them removed. To cut a long story short, I regret my decision deeply and am desperate to keep my natural teeth (even with flaws). Can someone give me advise if there is anything that can strengthen my teeth enamal.

Alas there are unscrupulous folks the world over...

You can try Trident Advantage chewing gum which has been found to remineralise teeth - uses casein which is found in milk. I think Enamelon which had such a toothpaste went belly up a few years ago.

Have heard about paste (not a toothpaste) for this, but you might have to wait a few years as it's only in clinical trials in Japan, as far a I know. Keep an eye out for news about the paste and its inventor Dr Kazue Yamagishi.

Till this stuff becomes available (if it ever does) a stannous fluoride mouthwash will help to prevent further loss of enamel. Check with your dentist about this.
