My brother-in-law just certified as cancer patient. Is It better to choose either private
or public hospital to do treatment here with better result?

It is just a matter of money. If you can afford private then just go for it although the Treatment is exactly the same, but the waiting time is probably shorter.

Friend's uncle (in his 60's) was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer. He was a local so opted public hospital. Had extensive tumour removal surgery then chemo and radiotherapy at Queen Elizabeth. He made a full recovery. He is still alive and has not had any remission.
Neighbour's helper had Stage 4 breast cancer. Treated at Queen Mary. Had surgery, chemo and radio. Made it through 4 more years. She saw her son married and went the baptism of her grandson.
You need to go through GP, then specialists before referred to oncology. Takes time including tests.
Cancer drugs in public hospitals are much cheaper.
Understand that public hospital prioritises you based on your severity whereas private you find the best doctor possible within the budget you have.
Also depends if you have HK residency (ie use of public hospital).
Very sorry to hear but good luck.

Half a month ago just received my cancer treatment. I am referred by friends to go Hong Kong Adventist Oncology Center. It locates at Stubbs Road, with easy transport access. For public hospital, Queen Mary Hospital is widely recognized as among the best cancer expert. Hong Kong’s private hospital is always believed to be outstanding in both facilities and doctor’s expertise. Just like this time’s treatment, i enjoyed the comfortable environment and the medical staff are all showing their professionalism and tenderness.
Needless to say their staff are from many countries around the world, which make it easier to communicate with!
IF you want more information, please search over HKAOC

Depends on the cancer type.
For skin cancers, HK doctor recommended me to go to Australia as it is very rare in HK and not all treatment methods are available i.e. Mohs.
I had the first lost of surgery in HK and the 2nd in Australia.

Throat cancer treatment is better in HK I think because it is more common (personal opinion without any direct evidence).
