I am looking for a surgeon to remove a very painful varicose vein. A skilled vascular sugeon is what I think I need, but I am unsure. Can anyone recommend someone or point me in the right direction?

Thank You,

G

I know someone who had some treated by a doctor who is in Princes building I'll try and find out his name. It was the traditional surgical method under anaesthesia. however the non-surgical method if suitable is much better as can be done in an hour - you just go for a long walk afterwards and wear a stocking for a few weeks (which you'd have to do anyway). Not a great time of year for a stocking but if its painful then no choice.

I need the surgery. It is quite bad and compression hose and other treatments have not worked. I have seen a doctor before I moved to HK and I know that I need surgery. The problem is getting much worse in the last year with the walking conditions here. Any name or referral would be most appreciated.

For symptomatic treatment you could try a topical cream which will prevent the inflammation of the vein as follows:

I had my varicose veins in both legs treated by a good surgeon with radiofrequency and sclerotherapy. The procedure has no pain at all and the result was excellent. Just fell a sleep and then everything was done.

there is this new procedure in treating varicosities. This is called Endovenous Laser Therapy. This updated procedure is faster than the traditional vein stripping treatment and can be preforemed under local anesthesia with minimal pain. After the procedure there is pain-less quick recovery time and this procedure will only last for less than an hour. This website will help you answers all your questions regarding this procedure. It also has list of physicians who specialized in Endovenous Laser Therapy.
