I have been reading recently that boiling drinking water can make it worse for you (increases chlorine levels). Therefore, I want to buy a water purifier. I can't afford to buy the $5000 models I've been seeing, so I've been shopping around. I've been to a couple of stores where I've found a Panasonic and a Philips model for about $1100. Both times (at different stores) the sales people went through how the filter removed toxins and chlorine....but then said you still couldn't drink the water once it had been through the filter. You STILL needed to boil it. Does this make sense? How can I be drinking the healthiest water?

Boiling water does not increase the amount of chlorine in the water, it actually removes the chlorine in the water

From what I have read chlorine is not the MAIN problem, it's the FLUORIDE that we need to worry about. it's fluoride that gets even more excited once you boil the water, and the more you boil, the worse the quality of the water gets, which is why if you have noticed taste of water from those electric boilers that keep boiling whole day, tastes really bad. I personally believe that drinking dirty tap water is better than drinking water that keeps getting boiled over and over. A good filter should be able to remove chlorine, fluoride and many more impurities, though I would not trust Philip with providing me healthy water, did use Panasonic, but most locally sold filters don't remove fluoride.

I bought a water purifier is attached with the tap. The water from the purifier is drinkable. It has the report states it can filter the chlorine, the heavy metal and 140 baterial, but it can keep the mineral and oxygen.
