If he has any other symptoms like discharge from the eye or redness then take him to your doctor, he may have infection. If not, and vision is blurred then take him to have his eyes tested at a good testing place, you may have to enquire which one is best for childrens eye testing. Important for him that he can see properly!

Agree, go to take him to see the doctor. And if you want to have more information,
you can go to http://www.hsbc.com.hk/1/2/hk/insurance/healthnet for reference~

The above link is quite useful, it helps me to know more about myopia and the
some correction measures. But the link stated that there is a medicine called "Atropine" to delay aggravation, did anybody use it before?

Eye sight is a very precious thing, I had a lot of seious problems when I was a child, actualy spending weeks at a time in an eye hosptal in Manchester.
I was prescibed Atropine eye drops on many occasions to dilate the pupil for eye examination, after effects are not being able to see very well at all, in bright light, untill it wears off, also if there is inflamation (I had corneal ulcers) it stings like mad-very painfull, and should only ever be used as a prescription only medication under medical supervsion.
I would recommend never 'mess about with eye sight' problems, they need to be diagnosed and treated by proffesionals,
Blurred eyesight can be caused by simple things,eg too much television, too much time spent staring at a computer screen, genuine myopia which can be cured with spectacles-nice ones can be obtained for children these days-Harry Potter looks good in His!!
Also there can be more serious- but rarer under lying causes for blurred vision, If your child is still complaining of blurred vision, get him/her checked out properly by the Dr, who will refer you on for the appropriate treatment.

Hi Bateschan,
My 3.5 year old was also recently saying that he could not see well so he had to hold things close in front of him. We took him to Polyvision on the 42nd floor of Hopewell Centre in Wanchai and they did a very thorough check. Turns out he has astigmatism and needs glasses. They are quite experienced with checking children's eyes. They are quite busy so you may have to wait for an appointment but try to ask them if there are any cancellations they can squeeze you into. Don't have the number on me now but gooogle it and you'll fnd them. They have 4 other branches.

Thanks for all the advice, I would bring my son to check the eye sight soon.
I agree that myopia is quite a serious problem for children, so prevention is
always the best thing to do, like the link stated " It is also advised for children to take a 30-second rest after every 30 minutes of work. Children should look at distant objects during the rest to give eye muscles a chance to rest, thereby reducing the possibility of falling victim to myopia. "
