excerpt from the article ......

For Jill Olson, a mother of two, it’s a matter of trusting the experts. “There’s not really any way that as an individual I can do more scientific study and research than the American Academy of Pediatrics or the Centers for Disease Control.”

I guess Jill Olson is unable to do a common sense study and look at the more than 2.2 BILLION dollars paid out by the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program ( http://www.hrsa.gov/vaccinecompensation/data.html ) and ask an oh-so-obvious question ....

If vaccines are so safe - as claimed by her "experts" - why is there a need for a compensation program?

Or perhaps you could use your brain and notice that this 2.2Bn was paid out to only 2900 claiments, SINCE 1989. That's about 126 claims a year.

Now consider how many millions of people recieved vaccines during that period, maintaining herd immunity and allowing the majority of kids to actually live past 15 years of age, a priviledge denied to people before vaccines were discovered.

Vaccines are NOT completely safe, if you give out a million vaccines some people will have a reaction, some people will die. That's why they set up this fund in the first place. It's a lot better to have a couple of hundred people die each year than to have thousands or even millions die each year instead.

You need to go and spend a few years in africa and around some of the less developed asian countries, places where they haven't given anyone any vaccines and there is no herd immunity. Go there with no vaccinations, take your unvaccinated kids there too. Let us know what happens.

Again, your mindset of accepting vaccine injuries and deaths as “ok, no big deal” indicates to me it’d be a waste of my time holding a discussion with you.

My mindset isn't that it is OK to have kids dying, to the contrary I think it's NOT OK to have thousands upon thousands of kids dying of diseases that have been eradicated by vaccinations.

The entire reason why vaccines exist is because doctors said it's NOT ok that thousands of kids die in horrific pain. They risked their own lives testing and developing vaccines (with many of them dying in the process) so that they could put a stop to various endemics.

All medical procedures, all drugs, all treatments share one thing in common: a theraputic index. This is the ratio of side effects/complications to success. You can't expect something to work in 100,000 patients without having 1 complication. And that's before even going into the individual "complications" which are often nothing to do with the vaccination but occoured coincidentally. There are about 4 million births per annum in the US, most of them recieve vaccinations. It would be extremely UNLIKELY for none of them to happen to get sick straight after getting vaccinated, there are only 365 days in a year and 4 million kids just waiting to have some kind of disorder on any one of those days, sometimes it's going to be the same day or shortly after a vaccination.
