My son arrived home from school on Thursday with nits. I'm not overly concerned because after all, they're hardly life threatening, but I'm wondering should I inform others in my building or just leave it? I presume he got it at school, but who knows?

if you are not overly concern , why would you tell other people in your buliding about it? I think it is personal. That is my opinion.
My daughter used to have them when she was in grade school.
dunno how she got them because she wash her hair everyday. Bought some shampoo for this type of problem, and eventually they went away,

Yes, my son got the #1 haircut soon after I found them so problem solved!
