HI. I would suggest you contact our office, Dr David Stirling, 2849 7822. We are in Central near Lan Kwai Fong. The doctor suggests Concerta.

I'm in the middle of a Court Hearing. It seems the Judge dont buy my son's story because the Judge does not fully know or realize the problem of a Adult ADHD, He does not believe my sons in capable to answer the persecution question is due to his lack of concentration and due to his mental problem since he was todler. I am so desperate, so sad and why cant they understand that a ADHD is not usually a bad person but a naughty person who seems uncontrollable and undirected in their life. I stop him on Ritalin long time already because I dont want him to die from it. I feel so depressed, could not sleep, disorientated. It's my fault, I ruin his life. I am not a good mother. I should pay for this.

Any good doctor (you should get a GP you trust) can prescribe Ritalin or Concerta. In fact, any bad GP can do the same. It is available. You might even get it over the counter at less reputable pharmacies. But I would suggest linking up with a recommended doctor.

I believe that Ritalin LA is not available in HK. If you are moving to HK, then I suggest that you bring a good supply with you and restock whenever you go back to wherever it is you're coming from.

My son is on Concerta - I don't believe that it works as well as Ritalin. The doctor that I saw here had no knowledge of ADD dosages or anything and was asking me, I am unfamiliar with Concerta and although it Googled it, came up with US websites that seemed to talk about massive doses. My son is on 18mg once a day maybe too little. I don;t know. I thin that a placebo effect is working a bit more than the actual Concerta....

Is Dr. Stirling an ADD expert? Wouldn't mind chatting to him.

Sampaquita...I do know that ADD medication will exacerbate problems like obsessive compulsive disorders, which your son may have had and then the medication made it worse. You should not feel guilty though - how could you have known.

My son has ADHD, so we have done the rounds here. Our Paediatrician is Dr. Eunice Wong (qualified in the US), who is based in Central. She can prescribe all the ADHD medications, including Ritalin, Concerta and Straterra. You could call and check if she can prescribe Ritalin LA - 2858 2183.
