Maybe it is PMR - Google for it - in which case you need a dose of steroids for several months.

NO - it is NOT the type of steroids to force muscle growth!

If it has been a while that you still feel pain on your back and neck, it could be something wrong with your body and then some exercise/ movement of your back and neck trigger that pain. You may visit doctor again or else visit Traditional Chinese Doctor to let them diagnose what happen on your body. Try Veronica Hoi in Central, she is one of my favor TCM doctor in HK.

I've been going to an amazing oestopath at Dr. Susan Jamieson's practice in central. He has been working on my neck and shoulders. He does sacral cranial work and is incredibly knowledgeable. He has also given me exercises to do at home at at work. http://drsusanjamieson.com/therapies/osteopathy/

I had the same problem too, but I found a massage therapist who is real good, she gave me a real relaxing massage every week in my apartment, after getting the massage, I can just go to bed, no need to waste time on road, can just go to bed after it, email me if you need her number.

Go to Tony Wong in Yau Ma Tai - 6771 2668. My wife had lower back pain for a few years. He is stretched her out and realigned her spine. She's been fine ever since. I went to him too for a dislocated hip. All good now. He charges HK400 approx. which is much less than most docs in central (unless your company/insurance pays for you)

why you don't go to have a medical check? You can find Dr Eric Lam who is a spine surgeon in Central. I think he can help you lots.

Please try to change your sleeping posture as well as the pillow size.
Do not use the mattress which is too thick it also cause the back pain. The pillow and the sleeping posture is the biggest cause of the neck pain. I am having such for at least 1 or 2 times in previous years but since i change my sleeping posture and change the mattress and pillow to little not softer one i am feeling okay with it now.

I have been going to a chiropractor in Central. He is very patient and he takes good care of me. I have had really bad neck and shoulders pain for more than 3 years. Situation has definitely gone better after seeing him for a period of time.

Actually, for back and neck pain I can also recommend Dr. Grace Yu or Herman Yuen at Balance Health. I also suffered from back pain due to long working hours in office, but it really helped me to get some advice and acupuncture in addition from a Chinese medicine doctor...

I went recently to see an osteopath, Taras Makarenko. I was blocked in the lower back, he cured me in 2 cessions.
I went back for a neck issue after yoga class, one cession was enough. his method is very gentle. So I recommend him.
