I'm moving to Beijing from England in December with 2 children. Any advice on immunisations before we come. We'll travel in China during our holidays so this may mean some extra ones.

Thanks

Presuming that your family is up to date with all the recommended vaccines

The others that you should consider are

1. Hep A & B--- A must.

2. BCG for TB-- not routinly given in the UK as it has a very low profile there.

3. Rabies --- can be given after a bite but it is a long course and involves a blood product if you do it that way.

4. Japanese Encephalitis--- used to be only recommended if you were going to rural area but is now recommended for ALL residents.VEry rare but can be deadly.

Talk to your GP in the UK

All these are available at the Beijing United Family Hospital (near the LIDO)

There are several international medical clinics provide immunisation in Beijing, I am concern about the vaccination given here in china is of international standard. International Immunisation program is also available at International SOS , Bayley & Jackson Medical Center...etc, these two clinics and Beijing United family are regard as the largest international medical centers in Beijing.

Better check the price and the origin of vaccination before your visit.
