ORIGINAL POST

I have just applied facial wax to my chin area and applied too hot, so am left with a couple of burn areas.

What do i need to put on the (if anything), how do i look after them (do i need to cover them) and how long will they take too heal?

What a complete pillock i am!

Do you know the basic care for first, second, and third degree burns? Do you know what degree of burn you have? Is it blistering or just red? Since it's on the face, really better to play it safe rather than sorry.

I think it's just first as it has stopped weeping and starting to scab over. I am putting Aloe Vera on and crossing fingers.

Still can't believe what an idiot i was.

When you describe a "weeping" skin, you are describing a second degree burn. The following Mayo clinic first aid guide (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/first-aid-burns/FA00022 )suggests immediate medical help for a burn like this on the face. I'm not an expert but I would definitely want some antiseptic cream (not available over the counter in HK) to reduce risk of infection (and hence reduce risk of scarring). And also I understand there may be some new products which can reduce chances of scarring generally. Finally, from personal experience I suspect the damaged skin may forever be more sensitive to sunburn. I know nothing of doctors in HK, but I've personally experienced some doctors who didn't take cosmetic things very seriously, and who therefore might not share your concern about scarring. I assume a dermatologist would be the place to start, and the more quickly you could get in to see one the better. Just be glad you didn't try to do your eyebrows!
