Sounds like an allergy to the Deo, not an infection. Stop using deo till it clears up. It may even be a reaction to stopping/blocking the sweat glands.
Use a natural soap with tar. You will need to wash your armpits more often during the day, even wet wipes will help. That way you will not smell.
Have you tried different brands of Deo, like a hypo-allergenic one?

Hi Chefinthebox, I had very similar problem as a teenager and mine was indeed an allergy to deodorant. I agree with tigerbay stop using deodorant immediately while you isolate the cause of the allergy! Another all natural remedy for smell is to take an old sock, and mix 50% baking soda with 50% corn starch. Tie off the end of the sock, and then use that to dust yourself as well as the armpits of your clothing (fine powder will come through the sock). A doctor may also be able to help you decide whether to use some hydrocortisone cream for the irritation. In the long run it's not good to use a lot but in the short term it may help with the itching and inflammation while this heals. Also, if it is indeed infected, you may need some antibiotic on it. In the long term, I figured out I was allergic to an ingredient that's in almost every kind of deodorant (sorry can't remember the ingredient!). I found ONE American brand of deodorant that doesn't have that ingredient and that's what I've used ever since. That brand is "Dry Idea" (I prefer unscented variety) which you may be able to get it at the import shops like City Super or Olivers.
