plastic surgery/ expatriate health care needs

I have 2 queries. The first involves a friend who wishes to get breast augmentation surgery (yes it is really a friend!). Is this sort of surgery cheaper and as effective to undertake in some Asian countries (e.g.Malaysia) and if so where? Approx how much cheaper?

The second is I would like to know what happens when expatriates with western health care needs (such as prescription pharmaceuticals) go to work in a country where the medication is otherwise unavailable. Is it legal and allowed to be supplied via the internet. For example someone might have a blood pressure or heart problem where it is essential they have their medication.

In much appreciation of a reply,

Catherine

Thankyou Pumpkin and Father of the House. The pharmaceutical issue involves the requirement of a fairly recently introduced anti-depressant drug. The country I might be moving to is Vietnam - not a culture where anti-depressants would really come in to the equation! Unfortunately I need this pill as I'm a nervous type, have tried to function without it before with eventual negative results. Whatever the case, you can't abruptly stop this med anyway. Any suggestions re access o/s. The breast surgery isn't a huge concern to me, just wouldn't mind an approx pricing for a package carried out in the Malaysian area. Thanks for your replies.

I suppose you better recommend surgeons so I'm not responsible for a botched up job, provided it doesn't mean a forensic investigation. The website was helpful, thankyou.

Face lifts can be done endoscopically now (key hole surgery) so often there is very little evidence, especially in the hands of an experienced surgeon.

always choose a qualified surgeon for any plastic surgery procedure. don't just choose the cheapest doctor. he may not even be trained in plastic surgery. also, there are various implants used for breast augmentation and this affects the price, as this website shows:
