Can anyone tell me whether this hospital is any good? My son needs a surgery and I haven't experienced the medical system here. Also - has anyone got experience of the open ward ? is it awful and worth the cost for a semi or private room??

I haven't tried the general ward at this hospital but I imagine it can't be too bad. My son has been hospitalized twice at Canossa which is good. The nurses are trained to work with children and very caring.

A very good hospital where two of my kids had a surgery. No experience of open ward, do recommend semi-private room.

thankyou so much for your reply - i think the first experience in a foreign hospital is a bit unnerving so it's nice to know that others have been there and found it to be good.

I am in here now! In a public room with 6 others but seems fine to me. Then again, I have never been in a private hospital before. It is like being in the Hilton compared to Queen Mary! I will post if I have any news after a day or two.I shouldn't worry about it being a foreign hospital, everyone speaks English.

Hospital was good in my opinion. The public ward with 7 beds was a bit noisy but I think that was just my bad luck as the woman in the bed next to me talked all day with visitors or on her phone then snored really loud all night. The treatment was excellent and seemed well organised. They have a big food menu but I can't comment on the quality as I was not allowed to eat most of the time. Bed/ bedding/ pillows etc all nice and comfy and there was a little TV and wireless internet access if you need it. goodluck!

I just visited the eye clinic with Dr Walton Li and could not have been more impressed with the staff and him.
There is a wait even with an appointment but they are really English friendly and it is widely known as a good clinic/hospital.

I had excellent treatment there as a day-patient in a private room. Woke up from surgery to find, carefully placed on my pillow, a colour photo of the lump they'd just removed! Guess it was to reassure me it really had been taken out.

we have used the Sanatoruim for my partner's
chemo treatment and it was excellent... clean
friendly staff, the ward area is hygenic as well.
You have a small tv and earphones so you cannot be bothered with the other fellow near you. The location is convenient as well. You can have a foot massage around the corner to ease the tensions as well.
