Anybody else here suffer from this? I've seen just about every kind of doctor there is to see here for this... gone through accupuncture-type treatments, needle point injections, physio-therapy. Nothing seems to work. One doctor has diagnosed this is myofacial pain. Muscles go into spasm for weeks at the time.

Try microcurrent therapy, you will be fixed in 2 treatments (in general), no pain during treatment, permanent fix, no side effects. Absolutely wonderful.
If you are interested, leave a possible email address here, I will email it to you.

The physical therapist used some sort of electrical impulse device in the affected areas but it didn't work very well.

This type of pain can be severe and interfere with daily life.
There are nuerologists who treat this condition. If you would like more details please feel free to contact me.

descrs, it won't be the same machine that I am talking about that your physical therapist used. This machine is from USA.... only sold to a few physio therapist and doctors in HK. I know so many people that has recovered from this problem already from this treatment. (if you are sure it is myofacial pain that is.)
If you don't try this method, doctors will probably end up telling you that you need surgery..... trust me, my friends are SO GLAD they didn't go for the surgeries... b/c it was unnecessary!
Can't help everyone..... good luck.

Yes, when this flares up, it is extremely painful. It hurts to wear clothes... it is impossible to walk. My hip has been in pain for over two years now and I have had multiple diagnoses on it... anything from a torn tendon (requiring surgery) to degenerative hip. I am not that heavy and prior to the onset of this pain, I walked every day. It all began when I had a hysterectomy and a minor bladder repair surgery done. The doc explained that the muscles were cut for the incision and the muscles just went into spasm. It felt like (for over 1 1/2 years) I had spilled a hot pot of grease on my entire tummy area. I couldn't wear pants... only loose dresses. The pain was unbearable. I had to take strong narcotics just to leave my house for anything.
The good news is after needle-point injections and physical therapy, that pain has subsided. However, the pains have radiated to other parts of my body, i.e., the hip, the lower back, the thighs, the shoulders and the neck. The pain is not as bad as the tummy pain was but it is still quite uncomfortable. And like Lynne said, it does interfere with daily life. I can feel the knots in my muscles. This all started at the age of 47.
I understand that the older one gets, the more aches and pains one has... but this is insane! Over-the-counter pain pills have no effect whatsoever on the pain. I can't get comfortable when I go to bed and therefore my sleep has been interrupted for over two years. I live in a four-story house and the steps are an absolute killer. I go to my bedroom at night and I come downstairs after my shower and I stay downstairs! Hong Kong, with its hills and stairs, is not a friendly place for someone with a hip problem.
One doc wanted to do surgery on my hip (diagnosed as a torn tendon). After the problems I had with the incision on my tummy area, I don't want another surgery unless it's life or death!
My poor pain management doctor has just about given up on me. He's done all he knows to do.
I've been to endocrinologists, urologists, gynecologists, pain management doctors, and orthopedic surgeons. The one that I have not seen is the neurologist. I guess it's worth a shot Lynne.
Again, thanks for the shared info.
