I am looking for information on Autism in preschoolers. My son has recently been diagnosed and I am keen to find him a therapist. I have heard of the autism Partnership and wonder if any parents have a story to share about their child, and what resources, if any, they have found helpful in Hong Kong. Are there any publications I should be reading?

The Matilda Child Development Centre is a Charity that the hospital supports. They cater for pre-schoolers with development problems why not give them a call on tel 2849 6138, I am sure they will be able to offer advice.

I am in similar situation. I need to have my son tested for aspergers and I actually emailed the Matilda Hospital over a week ago with no reply so instead I went back through the school to locate a centre that does do testing. Here is some info of places I found: Child and Family centre 25430993/ or www.talhk.com or www.focus.org.hk. Email me at bwitched32@hotmail.com and I will fax you the info I received from my sons school of specialists in this area. Hope this helps.

The link below is to a web page compiled by a U.S. attorney who represents parents who are seeking appropriate educational interventions for Autistic / Asperger's children (under U.S. educational law). He has a national reputation in the USA for advocacy for children with special needs. Additionally, his wife is an educator with expertise in Autism intervention. Because of his personal and professional interest, the links on his page are probably to very good quality information:

It appears from a brief run through their web site that they recommend the Lovaas approach. see: http://www.wrightslaw.com/info/autism.methods.compare.pdf
