i have absolutely no idea if its an orthopedic surgeon i need but my 6yr old boy is forever tripping on his own feet. He's always been accident prone but we've noticed its gone much worse this year. when he runs or walks his right foot turns in, so he trips on his own foot. He's doctor says he thinks the foot is ok but we want to see a specialist. Anyone had a similar problem or can recommend someone for us to see?

Dr. Julian Chang, St George's Bldg, Central
i don't have the number, however, call 1081 and they can give it to you.
He lectures at HKU.
i don't think he specializes in children's practice but he is very good.
you might want to consider taking some ballet classes.
It will teach your child awareness of posture, placement of his feet. and rhythm.
Many male athletes take dance training to help them with body awareness, flexibility, strength and stamina. Ballet is NOT only for girls.
food for thought.

The problem could be mechanical (bone problem), muscular, neurological (nerve problem) or even eye. Hard to decide from your present history. When you say 'his doctor' do you mean GP or paediatrician?? A doctor who says 'his foot is ok' should then look for another cause.

G'day,
I'm not sure if this is what you need. Perhaps you should ask your GP first. However, I recently have been seeing a great orthopedic surgeon for my injured leg. Dr Chris Tong. 12 harcourt rd, central, bank of America tower. 28th floor. If you do need an orthopedic surgeon then I can recommend him. Good luck
