Gall Stone - Surgeon Recommendation

ORIGINAL POST

I have just been informed that I am the proud owner of a 2cm gallstone and need to have it and probably my gallblader out as well via laparoscopy. Grateful for any recommendations (from people who have had first-hand experience only please) on a good surgeon. Thanks!

I had a laparoscopy done by Dr. Donald Greig (Hong Kong Surgical Specialists tel: 2715 4577). He was very good, leaving little in the way of a scar and the follow up was all arranged while in hospital and went very smoothly.

Dr Greig, the best one in Hong Kong as I was told for this kind of procedure

How did it go. If you had the surgery, have you had any digestion problems since or residual pain in the area of the surgery (where they leave in the pin that seals the bile duct)? I am facing this too, and know too much! thanks.

Hi there

Been a few years since the surgery now so I'm a bit hazy but on the positive side I am absolutely fine and no real digestion problems or pain. As I recall there was understandably some pain right after the surgery but no more than expected. Only advice I'd give you is to find a good, reliable surgeon. Good luck!
