Hi there,

Can anybody tell me how much a pacakge tour to europe costs? And what all does it include? Is it good to travel to only one country to europe,or should i take the whole pacakge. i am planning to take my parents, who may not get opportunity to go to europe next time, due to various reasons.

I am planning for easter.

or Any other suggestions for places apart from asia's hotspots?

Thanks

It isn't possible to give a price for a "package tour to Europe". It depends on how long you stay and what countries you go to - Sweden has a much higher cost of living than Portugal, for example.

How long are you planning to go for? If you're only going for a week or so, I would not visit more than 2 (maybe 3 at a stretch) countries - after all, you don't want to spend more time travelling than sightseeing.

If you commence from UK, there's a lot of travel agencies that does Europe which starts from ten days to one month tour, very cheap too.

May cover Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland and other places depending on your plan.

Black Forest was also included on a ten day tour.

Same in the Philippines, travel agencies charges from 3,500US dollars up inclusive for one month travel(some days no lunch otherwise all included), but it is pilgrimage based-tour like Lourdes(France), Spain(almost everywhere was covered), Italy(same), Portugal, almost all famous tourist spots in Europe was covered.

Money well spent.

The downside of both is long travel by bus, but we had so much fun by the end of the tour we added new friends to our long lists.

My Mom did it twice, different itinerary.

hkkm as I am not much aware of what it takes to travle to europe.... as to what it entails. I am planning a tour for seven days, and as I understand should go to not more then 2-3 places. Which one do u suggest as in terms of cost effectivenvess. As my parents have never seen anything there , anything will be a welcoming change.

Hi Taps , I am based in Hk.Will check out with HK travels abt the above places. Thanks

Why don't you spend a little time finding out a bit about the different countries in Europe before you go. Then you will have some idea of what the different countries are like, what things there are to see in the major cities and how long it takes to get between them. You will then be able to choose a tour that is suited to your interests.

Otherwise you may end up like the poor mainland tourists who come to HK and get dragged around to all the shops because they apparently don't know what they signed up for. I'm not saying that you will end up on a "shopping tour" to Europe, just that you will enjoy yourself much more if you are a little educated before you go, and not just following the guide with the little flag:-)

Where you go in Europe also depends on whether you just want a quick visit to a couple of highlights of the cities you visit, or to spend a bit more time soaking up the atmosphere and seeing some things that are not covered by the quick tours. If you're interested in museums, for example, the Vatican Museum in Rome will take a full day to walk through (and you still won't see everything!)

A good place to start is to go to any decent travel agent and ask them for some brochures for tours of about 1 week. Then go home have a good look at the itineraries and look up the places that the tours go to. See if these are things that you and your parents are interested in seeing. Choose the tour that goes to interesting places, or see if the travel agent can put together a tour that goes to the places you want to go to.

thanks for all the replies.. sure i will look into the cities, what i was aiming for here is to get an idea about good and feasiable places to visit, from real ppl who have actually been there instead of a agent trying to sell me a tour pacakage.

Any idea about approx. per person cost? am not looking for a 5 star tratment but a decent travel iteniary.

thanks once again

depending on when you are going.... high season or low .... ( best time to go is April/May, cheapest).... I would say average, with a tour group, 10 days, 3-4 cities.... budget for $ 12000-15000 HKD per person. The price differs depending on what class hotels, and how many meals are included, and in the summer, it's more expensive.

Probably between all of the people on asiaxpat we have been to most everywhere in Europe - hundreds of cities and towns between us. But unless we have some idea of your interests, it's impossible to give you an idea about "good" places to go - it's all good in one way or another!

Best time to go is late spring or early autumn, never go during summer, expensive and Italy is really hot and too crowded.

Paris is okey as Parisian go elsewhere where there is sun and sea, but some shops takes holiday as well.

Austria and Switzerland can be nice if mountain view is an agenda.

We love Prague and Budapest.

Like hkkm we covered Europe and everywhere is different but for a short tour, no one can beat London, Paris and Rome.
