I am a british citizen but also HK resident. Do I have to get a visa in advance for Vietnam or can you just arrive at airport and do whole thing there or what? Anyone done it recently?
thanks

@ MOONCAKEBABY, I went to Vietnam for holidays recently . You do not need a visa to entry Vietnam , if U holding a British passport . As the VN consulate has changed their policy of the visa entry for the European , such as British, French , Italian , Spanish etc .

Its all gone....something else I would like to know about Hanoi is taxis from airport. In Bangkok its always an attempt to scam by not putting the meter on . How about Hanoi?

@Mooncakebaby: There 2 kinds of taxi service from Hanoi Airport: dedicated airport taxi and regular taxi. Dedicated airport taxis usually have fixed fares depending on your destination (which district). This fare often lower than normal meter calculating fare. This kind of taxi is easy to recognize by a large number of taxis in the airport with the name Airport Taxi. If you choose regular taxi, be sure that you choose a cab with uniformed driver and turn-on meter calculator.
