depends where you are. I am getting vietnam visa as well by next week. Just go directly to their consulate and you can get it within 4 days or if you want a fast visa (within 1 day) you have to double pay.

Hi, as there was no embassy in shanghai, I organised one through an agency. The man's name was Magic and he canbe contacted on 13501828752. There office is in Bao shan. About a block from the train station, and near a Kodak shop, where you can get the passport photos you will need. It took about 5 working days and was 1000 yuan.

If you belong to any of the southeast asian nations - ASEAN, then visa is not required, rather you get a visa on arrival stamp which is free of charge

I avoid using consulates. I get mine online www.vietnamvisacenter.org It's easy and cheap.

You can apply for the Visa Approval in the official website of the Vietnam Embassy in China. Then you can get the real visa when you arrive at the Airport in Saigon or in Hanoi.

You should contact to travel agent in Vietnam they will arrange visa for you ( Visa arrival or invitation letter) with fee around US$12-15$ and you will get visa at Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh airport.

I agree with those recommending you go online. I have gone through Vietnamvisa.com twice with no problems. Must have USD when you enter, no credit cards accepted in Hanoi.
