Taking Lamps bought in HK to Japan

We have two Chinese porcelain lamps (the normal bedside lamps with shade) which we would like to take to Japan. Will we have to use a step down transformer to use it in Japan (110 voltage), or can we have it fixed somewhere to suit the voltage in Japan?

better to take it back to the shop where u bought in HK and have it changed before u leave. if reasonable shop they should do all sorts..., Japan, us, uk, europe, etc.
