SKYPE- is it possible to buy skype credit in HKD?

I mainly stay in HKG, so not fond of my HKG visa charging me extra for foreign currency.

also is it possible to get a number so ppl can call you when you are at computer? l got told it is possible, but the sound quality deteriorates.

Yes you can get credit in HKD... mine is in HKD charged to my HK Credit Card.


I used to have a dial in number - I picked a UK number so that my family could call me on that and save them paying international fees. The sound quality was no different to any skype call (or skype out call). As long as they had a good connection from their landline to mobile to the dial in number it then went over the internet in a similar way to a skype to skype call.


I large part of it does depend on a) your internet connection b) what you are doing at the time (stopping downloads/streams helps), c) their connection/activity and d) respective hardware (should not be too much of an issue for just voice calls, but a better pc with decent internet connection at both ends will make video calls better)

thing is, after l had set my currency to HKD in account window as advised, and I was back in HKG and tried to buy more skpe out credit, it only shows CNY, my isp is pccw, the computer is from HKG, so dont understand! but only once did l see the possibility of topping up with HKD, but that has never showed itself again :( its the same with world unlimited, or china 400, it is only in Euro and CNY, respectively. so frustrating , , please give the exact url or the steps, l only have HK visa

yes, currency is already changed to HKD, l noticed that l can buy HKD denominated top up, skype out credit via the account window by clicking on the the blue button 'buy more credit' , but to buy a plan, eg unlimited world l have to pay in CNY or EUR, do you know how l can buy the plans in HKD?

You may need to contact Skype themselves... I tried to go to purchase unlimited world and the prices I get are in HKD. Same with any other purchase, everything is listed in HKD for me.
