seek for advice on a Stand mixer

Afternoon dear all,


As I need to make some bread for my children,

I tends to buy a stand mixer.


I went to Wing On Dept store, the sales recommend a Kenwood Stand mixer, is 6000.00 !


I think is a bit expensive, any advice where can I buy a durable one with lower price

You can go to Shanghai Street (the section between Yaumatei MTR and Jordan MTR). There are a few shops selling cooking equipments, mainly for restaurants. I saw some selling Kitchenaid from HK$3000 to HK$5000 depending on models - Basic, Artisan, Heavy Duty...(the $$ was a year ago). You have to get yourself familiar with the functions and specification of the models; then identify the model you want as the sales are not able to tell you in details as they are not selling to household consumer.


Buying this kind of equipment is quite expensive in Hong Kong.

Totally agree with Cixi... You need to know what YOU want out of the machine, instead of getting talked into buying the most profitable model they have to sell !!

Hi, I finally bought kitchen aid, also bought the ice cream maker.


Well, to me , I was a bit regret to take the ice cream maker, coz is quite big, not convenience for me to make ice cream, coz is a sizeable container , and i need to pre ice it in the freezer.


For the kitchen aid, is ok, it cost 3000. 00 the model is " Heavy duty " , apart from this , I also bought a halogen cooking pot / Turbo oven.

is very useful and great fun, now I can use this to cook BBQ pork, roast chicken, cookies, bread.......safe time, and great fun.

I love Kitchen Aid stand mixer…i have one in L.A. and been using it for few years. I bet you will have lots of fun with this machine. The juicer attachment and the pasta attachment are pretty good too!
