I was there yesterday - good was just as good as it always was... the only thing that has changed is the menu is in english with photos... I think they have lost a bit of the tradition by making that change....

Just as bad as it always was, never liked Fernandos in the 30+ years I have been going to Macau, it is aimed at the lemming tourists. If you want authentic Mecanese food go to Porto Interior near the temple or Larucha. Porto Exterior near the Rio hotel is OK but still better than F's. Sol Mar is also good. Every one has the same buns, you don't have to go to F for buns

I still think it's a lot of fun and its strength lies in the fact it doesn't try to be something it is not. Not a place for foodies ,though a lot better than most places in HK - especially if you stick to the Portuguese dishes. I like the Vinho Verde, the atmosphere, the bar football and the garden. I also like the way it doesn't compromise and you can't reserve a table. I've had many great times there with friends and family. More expensive definitely - but prices have shot up dramatically in Macau recently. Alorcha probably has nicer food but you don't get the same alfresco feel. Just turn up on a hot summer's day with a few friends, order a few bottles of chilled Vinho Verde before moving mildly intoxicated into the dining area. Dig into the rolls and tomatao salad (which are a meal in itself) then hit the sardines and egg pudding. Glass of port and a couple of games of bar footy to follow then pour yourself into a taxi and head home.
