I am in HK with my husband for last 4 months. We are here on work permit and having HK ID card.

My parents are planning to visit Hong Kong. They also like to visit China - Shenzhen.

Can they apply for Visa at Hong Kong or they need to get their Visa from their resident country

Hi

Your parents will have to apply for visa in their resident country. Somehow Chinese imigration does tend to change their rules pretty often ....some countries still get visa on arrival while for others they expect you to have a visa beforehand.

Best is to check with your travel agent for latest but to avoid disappointment let them come to HK with a visa

Hello,

Foreign visitors in Hong Kong can visit Guangdong Province for a maximum of 144 hours (6 days) via entry ports in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, Huizhou and Shantou* using the 144-hour Convenient Visa. (*The 144-hour Convenient Visa also applies to visitors travelling to Shantou in tour groups, on the condition that they enter and leave via Shantou.)
