Sharp Plasmacluster (sounds cool right?) from Fortress. Comes in red, white or black. About 2600 per IIRC. Works well. Easy to clean. You might need two for the flat depending on layout. It has a nice big light showing current air quality (you can turn this off if you have it in a bedroom). You can set it to change speed depending on air quality.
We have 4 (1 per bedroom plus one for living room) and are very happy.

They do make a noticeable difference. And cracking the case after a couple of months is enough to make you appreciate it. Totally black inside!

We too have a plasmacluster... working well so far. Easy to put in filters and clean the pre-filter... no complaints so far!

In the Plasmacluster you don't need to change them often so we haven't done it yet. Monthly maintenance is vacuum visible dirt, then wash the carbon filter in a bucket.
