Hi I will be coming from Shanghai on a business trip and I would like to purchase some A/V equipment. I find it difficult- and very expensive- to buy good equipment here. I am looking for a store that has a great seleciton of recievers and speakers. I am interested in Yamaha, Denon, and Onkyo receivers and a Klipsch sub and speakers. I would prefer a place where I do not have to bargain.

I found an awesome little store on Des Voeux Road. I can't remember the exact number but it is around 100 Des Voeux Road Central. There's a sign with "Hi-Fi" something and you go up a flight of steps. Very audiophile oriented with a nice selection.
Otherwise there's always Sham Shui Po. A whole section of street with just audio stuff! Can't remember the street name but I think it is Yu Chau Street.

Keff (used to be iTheatre) on 8/F, Times Square in Causeway Bay has knowledgable staff and co petitive prices, as does Standard Audio in Ocean Terminal, TST. Both have us good service over the years. You should also try AV Life branches around HK as they sell Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo etc etc too.
Went to a showroom yesterday: DCH at 48-52 Des Voeux Rd (2804 6863) and was impressed with the Sonus. Waiting for new 8 series to come out next month...

have any of you visited those HiEnd AV guys in Mong kok? I went with a colleague the other week and they seem to have the best selection for decent prices. I cant remember which building but we went from the 8th floor and walked down to the 4th looking at each floor. it was heaven!
I'm just weary of buying these from "resellers" and not sure of the quality.

I think you mean the Yau Shing Commercial Centre on 51 Sai Yeung Choi Street South in Mong Kok. Indeed a good place to go shopping for AV gear.

Well, the Yau Shing Commercial Centre has many stores, not just one. You can definitely save money by going there. Do make sure you check warranty status, however, as they do have a lot of grey imports that may not give you a warranty in HK.
