Is there any sports shop in Hong Kong which stocks these; preferably Merrells or Saucony but I will go for whatever I can find. I beleive they are made in China but it;s difficult to find them outside the USA. Any advice offered would be greatly appreciated.

Racing the Planet in Sheung Wan (www.racingtheplanet.com) had some last time i was there. Made by a UK company called Inov-8.

I bought a pair to try out and I now run in them once very couple of weeks by way of a change from my normal runners. Recommended, although I guess they are not for everyone depending on foot type, need for arch support, etc.

Try Escapade sports. Either on the left side of the escalator between Wellington St and Lyndhurst Terrace, or in Leighton Rd CWB. They have them.

Read an article recently saying they were not good for running (especially long distance) as no impact reduction, but far better for gym work.

New Balance just got their stock of Minimus Trail and Road. I think the biggest colour and size selection is at their Ocean Terminal shop.

For the benefit of 180K perhaps I should expand the statement and say that it's difficult to find them ON SALE outside of the USA. An oxymoron is a direct contradiction, e.g. bitter sweet, deafening silence and the like. Nearly everything is made in China nowadays but it doesn't mean to say that goods manufactured in China are sold there. Anyway, many thanks to the other contributors. I have located the Vibram with the separate toes, but it would appear Saucony aren't sold anywhere in SE Asia.

I think you might find that the oxymoron comment was referring to the "barefoot...shoes" concept.
