my cosuion is a single mother of 3, one of her child is born with many health issues and she is frequently having need to be admitted to the hostpital, she also had many operations and few more to come. All of her child are quite young elderest is about 9.


Social worker is handling her case but she isn't helping her much. My cousion has requested many times for a helper at home but the social worker is insisting that she should leave her 9 and 3 years old girls to the foster centre and only take care of the youngest (with mnay health issues), but ofcource my cousion refuges to do that.


I want to know as a perment residance of hk, what kind of help are my cousion and her daughters entitled to? txs a lot for your help?

The Social Welfare Department (“SWD”) offers Child Care Service Centres designed to help families in need. The fees charged by the child care centres vary and are subject to approval of the SWD. Parents may apply at the child care centres during office hours, which are from 8 am – 6 pm (M-F) and from 8 am-1 pm (Sat). A list of child care centres can be downloaded online at http://www.swd.gov.hk/en/index/.


Low income families with full day child care need can apply for Kindergarten and Child Care Fee Remission Scheme (“KCFRS”) to cover whole or part of fee through the Student Financial Assistance Agency (“SFAA”). Applicants may obtain application forms from the child care centres or SFAA website hettp://www.sfaa.gov.hk/.
