Hi, I have received a request from our bank who we have a mortgage with for "consent" to sharing mortgage information with the credit reference agency "TransUnion Limited".

Initially it reads like a must sign form, but after reading it again, am I right in saying that I do not have to sign it, however if I which to take out a further loan at any time with the same/ or other bank than I will be required to provide information????

They have set a effective date from the 1st April 2011.

To be honest I really don't want to share this information with parties outside of my bank.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You don't have to sign it back. If you do, they give your information to the credit agency which *may* help you get credit easier from other banks and credit card companies etc. I don't think it would disadvantage you in future, but due to privacy laws in HK, they need your consent to pass on your info.
