Does anyone know where i can buy the Australian off the newsstand (ie. without pre-ordering)?

You might try the news shop at the top of the escalators in the United Centre in Admiralty, just across the bridge from Pacific Place. They used to have a reasonable selection of newspapers and magazines in there. Cannot be sure they will have it but if you are in the area drop in and have a look.

I pop into Coast (the Bar) on Shelly St Soho from time to time, over the wkend and they usually have a few copies of The Australian around. I guess you can have a drink and read at the same time!
